I made this for you in the first week of January while fighting jetlag and insomnia.. the mixtape celebrates: the beginning of 2012, some of the next releases on Klasse Recordings, as well as the VA album “Hatched” out on Dirtybird this month, which features a track of mine. It’s also my way of saying THANKS again to the Deep North crew who booked me over to Canada. )
The mixtape is edited densely for max. entertainment and includes lots of tracks I love: some new, some still unreleased, as well as some records I bought in the 90s. Enjoy, download and share !

Robosonic celebrate the beginning of 2012 with a release on Jackmode, „The Sweetness” (which includes a bassheavy remix by J. Phlip of Dirtybird and Pets Recordings fame), a videomashup to the original track and a mixalbum entitled „Sweet and Nuts“.
The Jackmode release marks a special moment in Robosonic‘s eventful journey, which is now spanning 6 years; the boys haven‘t released any original material since their critically acclaimed debut album „Sturm und Drang“ and vinyl EPs (with album tracks and remixes by the likes of Jesse Rose, Santiago & Bushido, Koletzki & Meindl, Deo & Z-Man, Christopher Just and more) on their own label between 2007 and 2009.
Instead, Robosonic have been drawn towards the dancefloor and performed countless gigs – both at their homebase Berlin and worldwide – making a name for themselves as a seasoned DJ duo which has a lot of fun rocking exciting sets of heavily danceable, norm-defying electronic music in clubs and at numerous festivals morning, day, and night, often taking their crowd on a musical trip of epic proportions.
To commemorate their sucessful year and a return to a more production-focused career, Robosonic present the mixalbum „Sweet and Nuts“. This one hour mix of music contains nothing but new and 100% original Robosonic tracks and remixes (J. Phlip, Antonio Olivieri), some still unsigned and – - for your exclusive preview – - some which are soon to be released.

ROBOSONIC feiern den Jahresanfang 2012. Mit dem Release „The Sweetness“ auf Jackmode (inklusive Remix von J.Phlip, Bass-Liebhabern bekannt von Dirtybird und Pets Recordings), einem passenden Videoschnitt und mit dem Mixalbum „Sweet and Nuts“.

Seit mittlerweile sechs Jahren mischen ROBOSONIC die Tanzflächen von Berlin und dem Rest der Welt auf. Als DJs kneten sie den Brei der massenhaften House- und Techno-Veröffentlichungen in appetitliche Formen und präsentieren ausgewählte Scheiben – meist frisch gebrannt – in der Diskothek, im Freien oder in ihrem BKI-Podcast. Als Produzenten-Team war seit ihrem Debut-Album „Sturm und Drang“ und den Vinyl-EPs auf dem eigenen Label (u.a. mit Remixen von Jesse Rose, Santiago & Bushido, Koletzki & Meindl, Deo & Z-Man, Christopher Just…) kaum etwas von ihnen zu hören – es sei denn man war einmal Gast bei den Hunderten von Auftritten.

Zur Feier des Feierabends teilen sie jetzt mit Familie und Freunden einen ganzen Korb Früchte ihrer eigenen Arbeit. ROBOSONIC revanchieren sich damit ebenso bei Veranstaltern, Clubs, Labels, Kollegen und Unterstützern für das erfolgreiche Jahr und freuen sich auf die nächsten Veröffentlichungen.

Anfang 2012 erscheinen über das eigene digitale Imprint namens 0001 endlich auch die Musikstücke zum erfrischenden (und schon wieder ausverkauften) „Punchi“-Frotteeschal (http://www.punchi.de/shop/punchi/punchi-robosonic-yellow.html).
Der „Feldrecord im Zirkus“ wurde zusammen mit LAURA WEIDER aufgestellt, die zu Lebzeiten der Bar25 ein 40-stündiges Klavierkonzert dort gab. Übrigens entgegen manch hämischer Unterstellung: ganz ohne Zuhilfenahme von bunten Pillen oder künstlichen Wachmachern, sondern nur mit Saft, Nüsschen und den Liebesperlen ihrer Helferlein. Der „Haseldance“ hingegen bringt märchenhafte Gemüter in Wallung, besonders zur Weihnachtszeit. „Derrick“ löst endlich seinen letzten Fall. „1“ entstand im Ursprung für eine Perfomance der lebendigen Discokugel BELLA BERLIN, „Ein Kuss ist ein Kuss“ als Remix für WIR SIND HELDEN. „No Moral“ gilt gemeinhin als die saure Gurke unter den Süssigkeiten.

Bei „Sweet and Nuts“ folgen ROBOSONIC konsequent dem Rezept, das sie sich über Jahre auf der Bühne einverleibt haben: Massiger Boden mit reichlich Gummibonbons wird auf ein unterhaltsames Brett ausgerollt, Eier und Nüsse dazu, lauter bunter Schnickschnack obendrauf! Im richtigen Muster (quadratisch, 4×4!) angeordnet kann jetzt eine Kostprobe in Deine private Keksdose geladen werden:

C&G combine years of professional DJ & production work in hiphop and electronic dance music. They met back in the days of 2003 through CORDs first instrumental hiphop records (under the name of „Schall“) and GAUCHOs regular parties in the Ruhr Area („Cuts for Cats“). Invading Berlin almost at the same time their first collaboration was a series of mash-up records under the name of BROKEN BOOTLEGS.
And that’s when CORD got busy with 4×4 electronic dance music as one half of ROBOSONIC. Since he kept working dancefloors from Buenos Aires to Miami, from Milano to the woods of German hinterland.

Finally in mid 2011 the passion for 808 bass and the bum-bum-tschak brought C&G back to the lab again. They digged and cut and created a bass driven hiphop fused soundscape that lead straight into this recording. First heard in April 2011 at the PARTY ARTY event – known for the progressive impact in arts & music – it now fits car stereos, ballers boom boxes & the filthy bedroom of Diego Maradona. Robosonic’s DJ set at Fusion Festival 2010 sparked 20,000 Plays and Downloads at Berlin Kreuzberg Institut alone. And in pride of place, on stage, or draped round family members’ necks in striking “Robosonic Yellow”, you’d have been hard pressed to miss the amiable terry cloth scarf named Punchi.

The latter soundtracks artist Bella Berlin’s laser performance, who ever since her Robosonic collaboration has performed to the beat of Kreuzberg’s music manufactory on various stages: Friedrichstadt Palast Fashion Show, Sonar Festival in Barcelona with DJ Hell, Berlin Festival with Peaches and the New Year’s Rave in the ‘Space of Sound’ arena in Madrid with Paul Kalkbrenner.

“Punchi Punchi“ pays homage to its namesake, as light as it is versatile. “The Sweetness“ reveals a tender ballad from Robosonic’s repertoire of high tech soul.

Hidden within Berlin’s prevalent minimal techno scene, a maximalist flag waves wildly, held by an anarchist collective that ditches the skeletal beats and brings the noise. Boysnoize, that is. Boysnoize Records and its mighty ringleader Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize are electronic punks, a non-conformist DYI collective creating rave bangers aimed straight at fist-pumping dancefloors around the globe.

Boysnoize Records (BNR) was founded in 2005 by Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize. BNR was launched by Alex in order to retain full artistic freedom and to offer the same independence of spirit to a variety of artists; friends whose work he admires (D.I.M, Housemeister) or artists he has discovered (Shadow Dancer, Strip Steve, Djedjotronic). All have their own sound, though they often share Boys Noize’s frantic nature (other than the more disco-tech tracks released by the enigmatic Siriusmo and Strip Steve).

Alongside peers like Turbo Recordings, Ed Banger and Institubes, Boysnoize Records is part of a more recent breed of a techno/house/electronic label with a solid vision, beaming a myriad of influences from the past through a prism to create something fresh, new and exciting enough to create mayhem with their audience.
