Berlin-based Robosonic welcome the springtime with their first OFF EP. “Worst Love” uses an anthemic sample to create a groovy dancefloor burner with tight groove. Doctor Dru delivers a contemporary underground pop remix. Fritz Zander from the Suol collective made a “Panorama Bar 9 am”-styled remix for the real house-heads. And with “Thankful”, Robosonic give us a 2nd original track for the “summer of worst love” 2012!

„The Punchi EP“ marks the final chapter of an experiment: Robosonics‘ surprising answer to the rise of digital DJing and the decline of vinyl culture was to present another physical item that would keep a profound connection to their supporters. Alongside the „Punchi Punchi Mixtape“ in 2011 the amiable terry towelling scarf named Punchi went public.
On stage Cord and Sacha sweat passionately. So they said goodbye to their old yellow value-pack gig towels and embraced this welcome change from dusty record players and the usual t-shirt merch, which made the Punchi so popular with fans and the most up-for-it dancers. The Punchi is basically a fresh companion in heated situations. A scarf that is a towel. A towel that also is a scarf.. be it on the dancefloor, in the street or at the beach – the Punchi is an essential accessory not only for those who play records. No sweat! (www.punchi.de)

Now that it is time to say farewell to the first run of 1000 ltd. edition Punchis (in V.01 „night black“ and V.02 „robosonic yellow“) as all of them have been sold or given away to friends, fans or promoters, Robosonic drop an EP dedicated to the Punchi on their own imprint 0001.

„1“ was originally produced for BELLA BERLIN, the one and only living disco ball, who is bordering science fiction, art and the dancefloor with her magical live performances.
„Punchi Punchi“ is a beautiful and quite soft cut that will leave you with a warm feeling in your soul.
ANTONIO OLIVIERI – a smart producer from Italy based in Berlin – contributed his own sunny version of this Punchi theme. Make sure you don’t miss out his delicious liveacts which he prefers to perform outdoors under a sunny sky!
And finally, „Punchi Yellow“ is another colorful piece – an edit which recalls emotional moments of physical exhaustion, as is often the case at the end of a long Robosonic set. The edit contains slices of DAFT PUNK‘s composition for the „Tron“ soundtrack – big shout out to the robot colleagues!

Robosonic celebrate the beginning of 2012 with a release on Jackmode, „The Sweetness” (which includes a bassheavy remix by J. Phlip of Dirtybird and Pets Recordings fame), a videomashup to the original track and a mixalbum entitled „Sweet and Nuts“.
The Jackmode release marks a special moment in Robosonic‘s eventful journey, which is spanning 6 years now; the boys haven‘t released any original material since their critically acclaimed debut album „Sturm und Drang“ and vinyl EPs (with album tracks and remixes by the likes of Jesse Rose, Santiago & Bushido, Koletzki & Meindl, Deo & Z-Man, Christopher Just and more) on their own label between 2007 and 2009.
Instead, Robosonic have been drawn towards the dancefloor and performed countless gigs – both at their homebase Berlin and worldwide – making a name for themselves as a seasoned DJ duo which has a lot of fun rocking exciting sets of heavily danceable, norm-defying electronic music in clubs and at numerous festivals morning, day, and night, often taking their crowd on a musical trip of epic proportions.
To commemorate their sucessful year and a return to a more production-focused career, Robosonic present the mixalbum „Sweet and Nuts“. This one hour mix of music contains nothing but new and 100% original Robosonic tracks and remixes (J. Phlip, Antonio Olivieri), some still unsigned and – - for your exclusive preview – - some which are soon to be released.

Übrigens entgegen manch hämischer Unterstellung: ganz ohne Zuhilfenahme von bunten Pillen oder künstlichen Wachmachern, sondern nur mit Saft, Nüsschen und den Liebesperlen ihrer Helferlein. Der „Haseldance“ hingegen bringt märchenhafte Gemüter in Wallung, besonders zur Weihnachtszeit. „Derrick“ löst endlich seinen letzten Fall. „1“ entstand im Ursprung für eine Perfomance der lebendigen Discokugel BELLA BERLIN, „Ein Kuss ist ein Kuss“ als Remix für WIR SIND HELDEN. „No Moral“ gilt gemeinhin als die saure Gurke unter den Süssigkeiten.

Bei „Sweet and Nuts“ folgen ROBOSONIC konsequent dem Rezept, das sie sich über Jahre auf der Bühne einverleibt haben: Massiger Boden mit reichlich Gummibonbons wird auf ein unterhaltsames Brett ausgerollt, Eier und Nüsse dazu, lauter bunter Schnickschnack obendrauf! Im richtigen Muster (quadratisch, 4×4!) angeordnet kann jetzt eine Kostprobe in Deine private Keksdose geladen werden:
